HANA HAUPIA

Hana Haupia is a traditional firm pudding luau dessert that can be enjoyed with fingers or a fork.  It’s sweet, simple and very easy to make. This island dessert is delicious as is or  sprinkle toasted shredded coconut or crushed macadamia nuts on top before chilling.

Ingredients
  • ⅓ cup sugar
  • 6 Tbsp cornstarch
  • ¾ cup water
  • 1 ½ cups coconut milk
Instructions
  1. In a small sauce pan, combine sugar and cornstarch.
  2. Whisk in water and blend well.
  3. Add coconut milk to sugar mixture.
  4. Over medium-low heat, cook and stir mixture until thickened, about 10 minutes.
  5. Pour into 8 inch square pan and chill until firm.
  6. Cut into 2 inch squares and serve.
