With the holidays just around the corner, I thought it might be a good idea to review some of the products out there that might be helpful during holidays. I picked up this Glutino Gluten-Free Stuffing at my local grocery store a few months back when it first came to market. I’ve been making stuffing for the past couple years using stale loaves of gluten-free bread, chicken broth and sautéing onions and celery in butter seasoned with sage, poultry seasoning and pepper. It takes a couple days to prepare, but very tasty. I thought this might be a great alternative to making it from scratch.
The Glutino Gluten-Free Stuffing took about 20 minutes to prepare and then a bake time of 35 minutes. The box recommends 25 minutes covered and an additional 8 minutes uncovered. I increased the uncovered time to try and get the top a bit crunchy without over cooking. The stuffing was fluffy and had a nice balance of moist to dry. I did find the stuffing a bit bland and would have liked a bit more seasonings. If I were to make it again, I would add some additional seasonings to spice it up a bit.
One box makes 3 cups of stuffing in an 8 x 8 baking dish, about 8 servings. I would recommend this stuffing, if you don’t want to or don’t have the time to make stuffing from scratch.
I only wish I had some roasted turkey and gravy to smother the stuffing with. A little pre-Thanksgiving feast. Yumm!
