Crunchies® Freeze-Dried Fruit Review
“Let’s Get Real” is the new motto for Crunchies line of freeze-dried fruit that uses one simple ingredient -fresh fruit. Each freeze-dried fruit package was full with whole pieces of fruit with little crumbs and broken pieces. Each piece of fruit tasted just as if it was picked fresh from the farm. Simply delicious!
Crunchies has eight products, with the ninth shipping out this month that are available in both a single-serve packs and a larger grab-n-go resealable pouches. Their current line includes:
- Cinnamon Apple
- Strawberry Banana
- Mixed Fruit (Blueberries, Strawberries, Banana and Apple)
- Beets (Shipping out this month, April 2016)
Crunchies uses a non-traditional process of freeze-drying by promptly freezing fresh fruit after harvesting and using a low-pressure heat to remove the water as steam. This unique process retains most of the nutritional value of the fresh fruit while enhancing the shelf life. Each servings of Crunchies is only 40 calories.
The Good Stuff
Crunchies contain no added sugar, no artificial flavors and coloring and are non-GMO, gluten-free, vegan, kosher and halal certified.
What I Thought
As you can see in the images above, each package of fruit is full of large whole pieces of fruit. I was amazed that there were only a few broken pieces. As I opened each bag, the amora filled the air of fresh fruit. Well, except the Cinnamon Apple which reminded me of homemade baked apple pie. The fruit was super crunchy and easy to bit and chew. It’s an excellent healthy snack and would be a great on the road snack for gluten-free and vegans since you can have no fear of the fruit going bad like real fruit.
Crunchies was founded in 2004 and was the first consumer brand to focus on freeze-dried snacks. Crunchies is committed to delivering the high-quality snacks by only sourcing from farmers they know and trust. You can find these delicious snacks at your local grocery store or order online at CrunchiesFood.com.
