I haven’t had a sugar cookie since going gluten-free. And it was worth the wait for Betty Crocker to make a sugar cookie mix. These were delicious! I made the drop cookies, but the box has a recipe for both drop and cutout. Which is great if you have little ones who like to help.
The cookies stayed moist in an airtight container for about 3 days. I was surprised they even lasted that long. I swear I ate a dozen right out of the oven. Using a small cookie scoop, I got roughly three dozen cookies from the one box of mix. I decorated them with brightly colored sugar and baked them for about eight minutes.
Right on the box it states “Do not eat raw cookie dough.” Now, I may have tried the raw cookie dough. And it was delicious! I was very surprised. I thought it might be gritty and have a weird taste, but absolutely none of that. I’m lucky that I got the cookies into baked form. My SO loved them too and he’s non-gluten-free.
Overall, this mix was super easy to make using a stand mixer. The cookies, in both dough and baked form, were delicious and won’t last long in your cookie jar.
